Students Run Oakland

Students Run Oakland is a unique youth-development program that provides structured physical fitness training, mentoring, and nutrition education in the context of training for a marathon. In addition to the physical training requirements, all participating students are required to sign a Student Obligations contract in which they commit to maintaining a minimum 2.5 academic grade point average (GPA), attending school on a regular basis, and exhibiting positive behavior at school, in training, and in the community. Our 2008-2009 season will serve 60 students from three Oakland high schools.
