Oakland Unified School District Office of Alternative Education

The ALC Outdoor Education Program exposes 60 high risk middle school students to outdoor adventure, service learning, and responsible stewardship of the environment, ALC students will be taught in an experiential “classroom without walls” that engages their diverse learning styles and ignites their passion to make a difference in their community and in their lives. We expect these students to stay in school, develop life goals and direction, and demonstrate social and academic progress.
