Literacy for Environmental Justice (LEJ)

LEJ will provide service learning and field excursions that root environmental commitment in the daily lives of southeast SF youth.  We will provide year-round internships to 24 youth that make a substantive contribution to community environmental justice priorities; and provide peer-to-peer training in environmental justice to 120 participants from colleague youth programs in exchange for skills-building for LEJ youth (e.g. college prep).  In addition to the activities focusing on our own community’s environment, we will take the LEJ interns on bi-monthly out-of-town daytrips and overnights.
