Karuk Tribe

The purpose of the Karuk Eco-Cultural Youth Camps and Scientific Academic Advancement Program is to sustain local traditional ecological knowledge( TEK ) by engaging tribal youth in a series of comprehensive seasonal camps that brings elders and youth together to transfer eco-cultural knowledge and land management practices to the next generation. This project is strengthened by its partnership with the University of California Berkeley, who will bring some of the best expertise from western science to train the next generation of cultural ecologists and biologists.
