Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy

The Crissy Field Center is a partnership of the nonprofit Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and the National Park Service. The Center offers a range of educational youth programs that serve over 20,000 children, youth and families each year. Trails Forever is a park-wide initiative to establish a world-class trail system and protect park resources in the Golden Gate National Parks. Our Site Stewardship and Volunteer programs actively engage over 20,000 volunteers and youth program participants annually in the Golden Gate National Parks, through stewardship, environmental sustainability and restoration activities.

  • 2011 Impact Fund

    Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy (San Francisco) was awarded $25,000 for its Stewarding Diverse Environmental Leadership Program. Through this program, high school youth will help organize a summit to help explore how more youth of color and underserved youth can participate in outdoor activities and programs. In addition, the youth will help with restoration efforts and become interns with other local programs.

  • 2010 Initiative Fund
    Finding Urban Nature (FUN) Guide

    Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy was awarded $75,000 for the Finding Urban Nature (FUN) Guide: Train the Trainers curriculum guide to help counteract the physical, economic and cultural barriers many urban youth experience. Through partnerships with local organizations, the guide aims to encourage middle and high school students to engage in outdoor recreation while learning about San Francisco’s seven unique urban watersheds and neighborhood nature areas.

  • 2006 Small Fund

    $15,000 - To support LINC (Linking Individuals with the Natural Community), an in-depth six-week natural resource-based summer job program for high school students.

  • 2008 Impact Fund

    $30,000 towards Expanding Opportunities for Environmental Youth Leadership, a project that aims to deepen and amplify existing environmental stewardship programming by expanding hands-on service learning opportunities, environmental education workshops, and leadership/skill building activities for public school students.
