Fresh Lifelines for Youth

FLY was designed by incarcerated youth.  When FLY’s Executive Director attended Stanford Law School she founded a student organization that served kids in juvenile hall.  She put youth in focus groups, asking them to design services to prevent other juveniles from making the same mistakes. In 1998, she received a Soros Fellowship to pilot the youth’s ideas. Their ideas were so successful that in 2000, FLY was incorporated into a non-profit organization.
