Community Grows (formely Hayes Valley Neighborhood Parks Group, a project of Tides Center)

The BEETS (Band of Environmentally Educated and Employed Teens-formerly the BEET Rangers) program inspires and educates teens to be environmentally engaged and to develop practical and personal skills to become environmental leaders and future green collar workers. We train fifteen at-risk teens each year who in turn have opportunities to continue internships and job placement in the green field, as well as reach out and engage their community in environmental stewardship and ownership of neighborhood parks.
