A school garden is relatively easy to establish. Local businesses are often happy to donate materials, and grant opportunities are available to help support the purchase of items such as seeds and tools.
Sustaining a garden program, however, requires much more than materials. It requires dedicated personnel who can coordinate efforts, write for grants, and teach lessons. We are seeking funding to support one such individual for the benefit of junior high school garden programs in Chico.
