Burney Water District

Our pool has always been important to the health of our community.  Increasing obesity, chronic illness, and lower life expectancy among our young people strengthen our resolve to provide safe, active outdoor fun.

We want to ensure as many as possible continue to have access to the pool.  Burney residents passed a ballot initiative that enables the Water District to collect a $4 monthly user fee.  This fee entitles a whole family to access open swim time every afternoon for the season.  The fees are used to operate and perform general maintenance on the pool.  However, this fee is not adequate to perform major refurbishments, such as resurfacing pool surfaces.  Increasing this fee to adequately cover the cost of such refurbishing would make the pool inaccessible to many, many families within our community.
